Six Most Highlighted Controversial Issues About the Moon

Ranked #30 in Astronomy
Some occurrences on the Moon generally may be rejected by theories proposed by the scientists. What I can conclude here is that the Moon is a planet which is difficult to understand from its existence, formation, structure, composition and other underlying occurrences.

Indeed, many mysterious occurrences occurred on the Moon which we have been able to explain by the study of science itself. Some occurrences on the Moon generally may be rejected by theories proposed by the scientists. What I can conclude here is that the Moon is a planet which is difficult to understand from its existence, formation, structure, composition and other underlying occurrences. Wow, the facts that explain occurrences on the Moon are all incredible and puzzling!

The Mystery of the Origin of the Moon

When mentioning the origin of the Moon, scientists have cited three different types of theories which they all have flaws. Some scientists believe 46 million years ago, the Moon and the Earth were formed from a group of cosmic dust. Another theory regarded the Moon as the Earth’s child. It was said that the Moon was probably pulled out from the Pacific region. The exploration of Apollo revealed that the structure of the Moon and the Earth vary greatly in terms of their contents and substances. Other scientists have proposed another hypothesis stating that the Moon bumped into the gravitational field of the Earth accidentally and subsequently the Moon has been trapped to fix its position to its current track until now. It is difficult to explain their hypothetical views in regards to the mechanism that took place in this process as until now, we still lack the evidence to explain these theories. Therefore, all the above mentioned theories are unacceptable. Dr. Robin Breton said, “It’s relatively easy to explain the inexistence of the Moon than its existence.”

The Mystery of the Moon’s Age

It is amazing to learn the results from the rock samples brought from the Moon proving 99% of their ages are older than 90% of the oldest rocks found on the Earth. The first rock picked up by Armstrong when he first landed the coastal shore was 3.6 billion years old. Other rocks’ age were found to be ranging from 4.3 to 4.5 billion years old. The range of the ages was found to be bigger than the age of the Earth as the oldest boulder on the Earth is 3.7 billion years old. In 1973, the seminar held by the world’s Moon research was aimed to diagnose one rock collected from the surface of the Moon which has an age of 53 billion years old. What is even more puzzling is that the ancient rock was believed to be collected from the youngest part of the Moon. According to this evidence, some scientists suggested that the Moon has long been formed in the interstellar space before the existence of the Earth.

The Mystery of the Different Age between the Soil and Rock on the Moon

The most ancient rocks ever collected over the Moon were found to be younger than their surrounding soil. The scientific analysis showed that the age of the soil was to be at least 10 billion years old older than the rocks. This fact is unacceptable since the scientists believe that the soil is formed mainly from many tiny pieces of the rocks that are being smashed into smaller pieces due to the collision. When scientists analyzed the composition between the soil and the rock they came to the conclusion that the soil has none of the chemical composition similar to the rock. Despite this finding, scientists have to reject the previous theories but to say that the soil was originated from other places outside the Moon.

The Mystery of Hollow Ball Sounds Produced due to the Collision of Large Objects onto the Surface of the Moon

During the exploration of Apollo on the Moon, the abandoned part of the rocket was said to hit the surface of the Moon with a bombard sound. According to NASA’s documentations, each time such hitting would produce a sound resembling a large bell. When the astronauts landed on part of the Moon that was particularly dark black in color, they would have difficulty to drill a hole. The analysis of such soil samples showed that the soil contained a large number of titanium (it is used to make spacecraft and supersonic jet), a rarely seen metal on the Earth. Besides titanium, the soil samples also showed abundant compositions of Zirconium, Iridium and the Beryllium. Scientists up to now are unable to solve this mystery as these metals are only formed in an extreme high temperature of 4,500 degree Fahrenheit to be integrated with other surrounding rocks as an individual form to form such metal elements.

The Mystery of Stainless Steel on the Moon

The rock samples from the Moon concluded that the rocks contain iron particles which scientists believe are not originated from the meteorites. The scientists from the United States and Soviet Union even found a very odd phenomenon on those rocks. These rocks are not oxidized to rust even though they have been kept exposed to the air for 7 years. This fact cannot be understood alone in the scientific world since all pure iron will rust eventually.

The Mystery of the Radioactivity that is Released by the Moon

Scientist discovered that the thickness of the Moon’s surface with a distance of 8 miles has a tendency to release the radiation. This is truly an amazing phenomenon that is not heard of elsewhere. When the astronauts from Apollo 15 measured the said surface with a thermometer, they were amazed at its surprisingly high reading. That means the Apennine plain near to the heat flow must be very high in temperature. One scientist even exclaimed, “God, this piece of land is going to melt! The core of the Moon must be even hotter than its external surface.” However, it is puzzling again to find that the temperature is not as high near the heart of the Moon. The heat from the surface of the Moon is believed to come from the release of a large number of the radioactive materials found on the Moon. The question here is where do all these radioactive materials which are rich in the metals of Uranium, Plutonium and Thallium originate from? If these radioactive materials were originated from the centre of the Moon, how did they rise to the surface of the Moon?

Conclusion

Scientists are still trying to find out the solutions for all these happenings, and hopefully one day, all these mysterious events will not remain as a myth to be told from mouth to mouth, but a concrete evidence to be accepted by everyone.

Could you provide a link to substanstiate this statement?

Those are puzzling information about the moon. With technological advance this will be unraveled later on.
